Atlanta Food Bank Picks Up KSU Student's Project

KENNESAW, Ga. (Mar 29, 2017) — Daniel Lumpkin’s PRWR 6850 (Web Content Development) course project has been picked up for broadcast by the Atlanta Food Bank. The project, a podcast series, which was conceived in Dr. Sergio Figueiredo’s fall class is called "Non-Profit: Step by Step.” Each episode will focus on a different non-profit organization. Every episode will go through the entire process of the organization, step by step. Daniel says that the podcast will give the audience a better understanding of the organizations that listeners might be considering donating their money or time to.

The pilot episode looks in depth at Georgia's Hunters for the Hungry program (through the efforts of the Atlanta Food Bank and the Georgia Wildlife Organization) which allows hunters to donate their venison to food pantries and soup kitchens throughout the state. “This is a wonderful example of how MAPW writers serve and inform our community,” said Tony Grooms, MAPW Interim Director.

Daniel was also profiled on the KSU homepage. Click here to read "The Whole Story".
