Drs. Christopher Totten and Sutham Cobkit received a certificate for CHSS Foundation Prize for Publication for 2013

KENNESAW, Ga. (Apr 18, 2013) — Drs. Christopher Totten and Sutham Cobkit have each been awarded a certificate for CHSS Foundation Prize for Publication for 2013. The certificates were awarded for their publication of an article in the New Criminal Law Review. The article, entitled "The Knock and Announce Rule and Police Searches after Hudson v. Michigan: Can Alternative Deterrents Effectively Replace Exclusion for Rule Violations?", was published following a survey study by the authors of police chiefs in large U.S cities regarding the chiefs' perceptions of the exclusionary rule and alternatives to exclusion (e.g., internal police discipline, training, education and citizen review boards), to deter police knock and announce violations.
