Current Competitions

RCHSS offers three competitive funding opportunities each year.  The Scholarship Support funding (SSF), the Teaching Enhancement Program (TEP), and the Manuscript Completion Program (MCP).

SSF and TEP applications are evaluated by the RCHSS Support Funding Committee and the request for proposals will be posted here when the competitions are open.

The Manuscript Completion Program (MCP) applications are evaluated by previous MCP recipients. The deadline for this application is generally in early September. The program takes place in the Spring and the deadline is generally early in the Fall semester.

2022-2023 Teaching Enhancement Program

The RCHSS Teaching Enhancement Program (TEP) focuses on providing more experiential learning opportunities for students, increasing students’ sense of community, and improving student retention. TEP funding offers faculty the opportunity to bring their scholarly expertise into the classroom to enhance student learning. These funds support initiatives aimed at enhancing student success in and outside the classroom through field trips, engagement opportunities, books or supplies for project-based learning, funds to support traveling exhibits, funds for technology used for experiential learning, honoraria and/or travel funds for guest lecturer presentations for classes, and other similar activities or materials.

Submission Deadline: March 14, 2022, at 11:59 pm eastern. Proposals received after the deadline will not be reviewed.

Informational Session: February 1, 2022, at 12:30 p.m. in SO 5074.  The 2021-2022 TEP funding recipients will present their work and answer questions.

Note: Proposals are reviewed by all members of the RCHSS Support Funding Committee. The committee is comprised of eleven members, one from each RCHSS School/Department. Please keep in mind that committee members come from various disciplines and backgrounds and may not have knowledge of your specific discipline.

2022-2023 Scholarship Support Funding

The overall purpose of the RCHSS Research/Scholarship Support Funding is to provide faculty with additional support and resources for impactful research/scholarship projects.  The goal is to provide a “boost” to faculty research in order for it to result in publications and/or external (non-KSU) funding.

Congratulations to the 2022-2023 Award Recipients

2022- 2023 Manuscript Completion Program

The purpose of the Manuscript Completion Program (MCP) is to facilitate the completion and submission of scholarly manuscripts or other creative works. Specifically, this multi-pronged program provides participants with three mechanisms to increase productivity and completion of works in progress: time, support, and accountability.

Congratulations to the 2022-2023 Award Recipients.
