First Fridays Symposia

AMST First Fridays Symposia brings together faculty, staff, and students to discuss research relevant to the field of American Studies, while emphasizing the deep connections among the interdisciplinary programs housed in the Interdisciplinary Studies Department. Past symposia have examined transnational analyses of Covid and the movement for black lives, the transformative experience of studying race through study abroad programming, and Latin American film. We invite current faculty, students, and teams of scholars to frame open discussions based on their own research and interests. Join our scholarly community on the First Friday of each month for some relaxed, intellectually stimulating conversation!
