Mocking Owls Hosts Owl Classic Mock Trial Competition at Atlanta's John Marshall Law School
Kennesaw State’s MockingOwls hosted teams from across the Southeast at the Owl Classic, October 26-27, at Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School.

Kennesaw State University’s Mock Trial team, the Mocking Owls, hosted a successful Owl Classic on October 26-27 at Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. This two-day competition brought together teams from across the Southeast, showcasing exceptional legal talent and competitive spirit.
Dr. Elizabeth Gordon, a faculty member in the School of Government and International Affairs, served as the tournament director, orchestrating a seamless and engaging event. A number of KSU alumni also returned to support the competition as tournament staff, including Jazmine King, Jessica Turner, Callie Christian Ortiz, Kensley Fields, John Piratzky, and Cole Metcalfe, reflecting the strong community ties among KSU’s Mock Trial program participants.
Students from KSU’s POLS 4466: Trial Procedure and Evidence class represented the university with skill and professionalism. Among them, Rory Manley stood out, earning the coveted Outstanding Attorney Award with a flawless score of 20 ranks—a testament to their preparation and expertise.
The Owl Classic not only highlighted the dedication and talent of KSU students but
also demonstrated the university’s commitment to fostering experiential learning and
professional development. As the Mocking Owls continue to build their reputation for
excellence, events like this strengthen their standing in the competitive world of
collegiate mock trial.
