What are the application deadlines?Application deadlines are as follows: Fall - July 1, Spring - November 1. All application materials should be submitted prior to the deadline to ensure review for the semester for which you are applying.

Do I have to take the GRE?The GRE is not required to apply for the Master of Public Administration program.

Is there an application fee?There is a $60 non-refundable application fee.

Is there a required GPA for admission?The Kennesaw State University minimum GPA for graduate admission is 2.75.

Does the MPA program have pre-requisites?There are no prerequisite courses for admission to the MPA program.

Who should write my letters of recommendation?Letters of recommendation from professors or work supervisors with direct knowledge of the applicant that can address potential for graduate study are the most useful for the admissions committee.

Can I defer my admission?Yes. Applicants who are accepted to the MPA program but did not enroll may update their admission to a future semester.
Program Delivery

Can this program be completed online?No. The MPA program at KSU is primarily a face-to-face program. While some courses are offered online, the program cannot be completed entirely in an online format.

When and where are the courses offered?Courses meet one night per week (Monday thru Thursday) in the evenings from 6:30 to 9:15 pm. All courses meet on the Kennesaw Campus.

Can I complete the program part-time?Yes. Our program is designed to accommodate students who work full-time. Students may take between one and three courses per semester. We recommend that students who work full-time enroll in a maximum of two courses per semester.

How long will it take me to graduate?The program requires 36 credit hours (12 courses). Most students who take a minimum of two courses per semester (including summer) can graduate in two years.

Will I have an advisor?Yes. Dr. Madinah F. Hamidullah, the MPA Program Director is the advisor for all MPA students. Students may also contact the MPA Coordinator, Dr. Maureen Wilson with questions.

Organizational Relationship between the program and the university?The Kennesaw State University MPA program is in the School of Government and International Affairs in the Norman J. Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Number of Students?Beginning Spring 2024, the MPA program had approximately 74 students (this includes those in dual degree programs: MBA/MPA, MPA/MAGIC, MPA/MSCJ).
