Welcome Message from INCM Director
Welcome to the PhD Program in International Conflict Management (INCM), the only PhD program in the Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Kennesaw State University. Since August 2010, the INCM program has been investing in students from around the world interested in the theory and practice of conflict management and peacebuilding.
We have over 75 alumni working not only in academia, but also for NGOs, international organizations, governments, and the private sector. Our program provides a solid foundation of interdisciplinary approaches to the theory of conflict as well as rigorous courses in research design, qualitative and quantitative methods so that students can explore a range of dissertation questions. After completing core coursework, students have flexibility to tailor their electives to their topical interests.
Faculty work closely with students in and out of the classroom as many of our students have funded graduate assistantships that allow students real world research experience. Students often co-present at regional, national, and international conferences and some also co-author peer reviewed journal articles or work on grant projects during their time in the program.
Our award winning faculty is multi-disciplinary and actively involved in the theory and practice of international conflict management. They have substantial publication records and are excellent mentors of our students.
We encourage potential applicants to attend one of our virtual open houses prior to applying in order to learn more about our program and have your questions answered.
Sincerely,
Maia Carter Hallward, PhD
Director, PhD in International Conflict Management
