Apply for Summer Institute

The KMWP Invitational Summer Institute (ISI) is strongly grounded on the National Writing Project (NWP) principle that teachers learn best from other teachers. The ISI Teaching Team works with fellows to shape a learning community in which we all become not only stronger writers and teachers of writing but also more effective leaders in our schools, our educational communities, and beyond. ISI fellows work collaboratively in reading and writing groups and present demonstrations of effective teaching methods—all integral components of the NWP ISI model. Building on a foundation of collaborative inquiry, the ISI experience develops a sustainable network for continued professional collaboration and support for teachers seeking to improve their practice, pursue research interests, and/or become teacher leaders.

This summer the KMWP invites you to attend the Advanced Summer Institute where we consistently strive in reinvigorating the NWP model of teachers-teaching-teachers by cultivating creativity, collaboration, and confidence–come grow and flourish with us!

The 2022 Invitational Summer Institute is "Getting Back to our Writing Roots: The Writer's Beginning, The Writer as Creator and Teacher." See details below!

UPDATE: The 2022 Invitational Summer Institute is canceled and will resume in summer 2023.
