Minor in Psychology
The psychology minor is open to all undergraduate students. Students gain a basic understanding and awareness of behavior through a curriculum that emphasizes psychology as a science. By exploring individual areas of interest in psychology through a variety of courses, students learn information that will complement knowledge acquired through their major.
Important Information about Minors at KSU
- Nine (9) credit hours of a minor must be non-duplicative with course requirements in the major. In other words, a student who is completing the PSYC minor as a SOCI major may use up to nine (9) credit hours towards both meeting the PSYC minor requirements and the SOCI major requirements.
- A minimum of six (6) credit hours in the minor must be taken with Kennesaw State University in order to earn the minor with Kennesaw State University.
- There are often prerequisite requirements for the minor courses; In addition, not every course that is offered under the minor will necessarily be offered every semester. Be sure to plan accordingly!
Upper-Division Psychology Minor Requirements
Under the Psychology Minor, students mut complete nine (9) credit hours of 3000-4000 level PSYC courses (i.e., three (3) upper-level PSYC courses). The courses that you choose to complete in this area may vary, depending on your major, or your personal interests.
