Dr. Kerwin Swint named Interim Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at KSU
KENNESAW, Ga. (Jun 26, 2018) — Kennesaw State University Interim Provost Linda Noble announced today that Dr. Kerwin Swint, Director of the School of Government and International Affairs and Professor of Political Science, has agreed to serve as Interim Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. He will be taking over the position from Robin Dorff, who is leaving at the end of June to become the Provost at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire. Interim Provost Noble stated in her announcement to the KSU community that "I know that Dr. Swint's leadership and dedication to the mission of the College will serve the faculty, staff and students well during this transitional period.". Kerwin was named chair of the Department of Political Science and International Affairs in 2013. Since then, he has worked with his faculty to develop a successful student scholarship fund for political science students, has worked with the KSU Foundation and the President's office to launch a Washington, D.C.-based federal internship program for CHSS students, and developed a successful external advisory board for department programs.
Under his leadership, the Department of Political Science and International Affairs has become the School of Government and International Affairs, comprising existing undergraduate and graduate programs, along with the A.L. Burruss Institute of Public Service and Research. Most recently, Kerwin served on KSU's Presidential Search Committee.
