SOCM Journalism Study Tour Maymester Class Connects Students and Media Professionals

KENNESAW, Ga. (May 28, 2024) —  

The recent two-week Journalism Study Tour Maymester Class was an immense success, offering invaluable opportunities for both students and media professionals to connect and exchange knowledge.

 

 

During the first week, students had the privilege of visiting prominent media outlets such as WXIA 11Alive, WSBTV and Radio, and Meta Content Manager Doug Criss spoke to students virtually.

In the following week, the tour continued with visits to Marietta Daily Journal, Georgia Public Broadcast, Fox 5, and the final visit from CNN Producer Victoria Kennedy, who graciously shared her insights with the students.

These interactions provided firsthand insights into the importance of networking within the journalism industry, leaving a lasting impression on our students. The tour undoubtedly served as an unforgettable experience, further solidifying the importance of practical learning experiences in journalism education.
