SOCM Double Owl Pathway

The School of Communication and Media is proud to announce its Double Owl Pathways. 

This is a way for students to take selected graduate courses in place of selected undergraduate courses. This is a chance for you to earn BOTH undergraduate and graduate course credit at the SAME time. 

If you are one of our high achieving students who is curious about graduate school and want to take a few graduate classes in Integrated Global Communication, then this is the perfect opportunity for you.

As a Journalism and Emerging Media student, you can enroll in up to two of the following classes and earn both journalism and graduate course credit:

COM 7100 Survey of Global Communication counts as MENT 3326 International Communication

COM 7600 Communication and Technology Seminar counts as JOUR 3820 Video for the Web 

As a Media and Entertainment student, you will enroll in up to two of the following classes and earn both media & entertainment credit and graduate course credit:

COM 7100 Survey of Global Communication counts as MENT 3326 International Communication 

COM 7600 Communication and Technology Seminar counts as MENT 4434 Topics in Media 

As an Organizational and Professional Communication student, you will enroll in up to three of the following classes and earn both undergraduate ORGC credit and graduate course credit:

COM 7100 counts as COM 4400 Directed Study

COM 7300 counts as PR 3335 Public Relations Principles

COM 7500 counts as ORGC 4470 Topics in Organizational & Professional Communication 

As a Public Relations student, you will enroll in up to three of the following classes and earn both undergraduate public relations credit and graduate course credit:

COM 6670 Crisis Leadership Communication counts as PR 4460 Crisis Communication 

COM 7300 International Public Relations counts as PR 3385 International Public Relations 

COM 7350 Principles of Strategic Communication counts as PR 4210 Social Media for Strategic Communication

 

Requirements for admission:

  • 3.5 GPA
  • 75 Credit Hours (it is fine to apply for the Double Owl Pathways with 60+ credit hours)

Students apply through their OWL Express Accounts

All enrolled students will have priority application status to continue completing the master's degree as they prepare to graduate with their bachelor's degree.  More information about the graduate program can be found at https://radow.kennesaw.edu/maigc/
