2016 Georgia Student Archaeological Research Grant Award
KENNESAW, Ga. (Nov 18, 2016) — Gregory Smart, an anthropology major in the Department of Geography and Anthropology at KSU, has been selected as one of two winners of the undergraduate award of the Georgia Student Research Grant, jointly sponsored by Society for Georgia Archaeology, the Georgia Council of Professional Archaeologists, and Georgia Department of Natural Resources. The award was given to Greg on Friday, October 29 at the 73rd annual meeting of the Southeastern Archaeological Conference in Athens. Greg’s archaeological research focuses on understanding the role of diet and subsistence in the Archaic period (5000-2500 BC) at the Traversant Site located in southwest Georgia.
