Communication Student Presents at Symposium of Student Scholars
KENNESAW, Ga. (Apr 27, 2012) — Communication and honor student James Triplett recently presented his honors capstone project at Kennesaw State’s 17th Annual Symposium of Student Scholars that took place on April 10. The study was titled, “Out of the Box: An Attitudinal Analysis of the Perception of Homosexual Characters on Television.” Dr. Erin Ryan mentored Triplett as he conducted a survey of television viewers to find out how they felt about representations of homosexual individuals on television. He found that, generally, most people did not feel LGBT individuals were represented adequately.
The 17th Annual Symposium of Student Scholars & Undergraduate Research Reception is a chance for students to display their research and be recognized for their hard work. Congratulations to James Triplett and Dr. Ryan!
