Darwin Day Celebration Week: February 12-16, 2018

KENNESAW, Ga. (Jan 22, 2018) — Darwin Day Celebration Week, one of the largest events out of our department, will be February 12-16, 2018. Darwin Day is a collaborative event sponsored by the Student Anthropology Club and the Biology Student Organization. Last year we had over 200 attendees at these events and raised over $500 for the clubs. The annual Darwin Day t-shirt benefits the sponsoring student clubs and a conservation charity. This year's charity is the Duke Lemur Center.

Events scheduled during this year's Darwin Day Celebration Week include:

  • Monday, February 12: Viewing of Your Inner Fish Episode 2 and with question and answer session with Dr. Marcus Davis of the KSU Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology.
  • Wednesday, February 14: Talk with Dr. Sarah Brosnan, a Professor in the Departments of Psychology and Philosophy and the Neuroscience Institute at Georgia State University.
  • Thursday, February 15: Trivia Night at Mellow Mushroom. This event will be held at the Mellow Mushroom across from the Kennesaw Campus on Chastain Road. Trivia topics include human origins, evolution, biology, and other Darwin Week related topics. Bring a team or join one when you arrive!
