HSS well represented at 2008 KSU Faculty Awards Competition

KENNESAW, Ga. (Aug 7, 2008) — At the opening of the university ceremony this morning, President Dan Papp, Provost and Vice-President for Academic Affairs Lendley Black, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Kennesaw State University Foundation Norman Radow announced the winners of the annual faculty awards competition. The following College of Humanities and Social Sciences faculty members were honored:

Dr. Tom Scott, History and Philosophy, received the KSU Distinguished Professor Award. The award honors “a single faculty member who exhibits excellence in all three areas of teaching, scholarship, and professional service . . .”

Dr. Aaron Levy, English, and Dr. Sharon Pearcey, Psychology, were runners-up for the Distinguished Teaching Award

Dr. John Fowler, History and Philosophy, and Dr. Catherine Lewis, History and Philosophy, were runners-up for the Distinguished Scholarship Award.

Professor Leonard Witt, Communication, was co-recipient of the Distinguished Service Award.

Dr. Catherine Lewis, History and Philosophy, received the KSU Foundation Prize for Scholarship for her book “Don’t Ask What I Shot”: How Eisenhower’s Love of Golf Helped Shape 1950’s America. New York: McGraw Hill, 2007
