She earned her B.S. in Secondary Social Studies from State University of New York and M.A. in History from the City University of New York College of Staten Island. Katherine is a doctoral student at Georgia State University. Her Ph.D. will be in Teaching and Learning with a Concentration in Social Studies Education. Katherine's coursework includes United States History, trends and issues in social studies education, qualitative research, social foundations of education, and educational policy studies. Her dissertation examines factors that promote historical empathy in secondary social studies and undergraduate history courses.
