KSU students headed to GOP convention

KENNESAW, Ga. (Aug 24, 2012) — Several Kennesaw State University students are headed to the Republican National Convention in Tampa to follow the Georgia delegations.

Twenty political science and communications majors are preparing for convention weeks. One group will head to Tampa next week. Another group is going to Charlotte for the Democratic National Convention, which begins on September 3.

The KSU students are enrolled in courses designed to gain real world experience in political research and journalism.

"It's a great learning opportunity and it's a great hands-on opportunity to learn about how conventions and parties work," said KSU professor Kerwin Swint.

The group plans on sending back reports to a class website.
