New book by Dr. Federica Santini
KENNESAW, Ga. (Dec 12, 2017) —
Dr. Federica Santini's new co-edited volume, I Novissimi. Poetry for the Sixties,
was recently published by Agincourt Press (https://www.spdbooks.org/Author/Default.aspx?AuthorId=36166).
The volume, which Dr. Santini co-edited with Prof. Luigi Ballerini of UCLA, is the
fully annotated, English language edition of the seminal experimental poetry anthology
I Novissimi, edited by Alfredo Giuliani in 1961. The new volume includes new translations
of the poetic works, extensive analyses, and new archival materials. "The schizomorphic
vision was not an expedient, was not a gimmick. It was the only serious way to tie
method and madness into a single knot. The only psychological, psychiatric, philosophical,
historical way possible. And poetically appropriate" (from Alfredo Giuliani's Introduction).
