Unconventional Wisdom Student Symposium

 

KENNESAW, Ga. (Mar 10, 2014) — Please join the MA Program in American Studies, the American Studies Student Organization (AMSTO), and the Interdisciplinary Studies Department at our first Unconventional Wisdom Student Symposium this Thursday, March 13th in Clendenin 1009.

Student panels will begin at 9:30 AM and continue throughout the day, with a documentary film screening from 12:30-1:30 PM. Paper topics include street puppetry, Lady Gaga, coffee, social media, and more.

Our keynote speaker is Dr. Paula Rabinowitz, Professor of American Studies at the University of Minnesota and author of multiple books including They Must Be Represented: The Politics of Documentary and Black & White & Noir: America's Pulp Modernism. The keynote address will begin at 5:00 PM with a reception and American Studies Open House to follow.
