KENNESAW, Ga. (Feb 15, 2019) — Mackleen Desravines, 2015 MAPW graduate, announces the premiere of her directorial debut! The film, which she wrote, is called SMOKE. It premiered at AMC 16 in Decatur, Georgia on October 20, 2018.

The movie is about the case of a man who murdered his pregnant wife, was sent to jail, was released with the help of his church only to kill four children ten years after he's released. “The angle I have taken with this film,” says Mackleen, “is to show how the attorneys battle out the fate of this disturbed man.” The film is based on a true story that happened in Detroit, but the story is set in Atlanta.
