Amanda Rose Pratt is an Assistant Professor of Rhetoric of Science in the Department of English at Kennesaw State University. At Kennesaw, she serves as the MA in Professional Writing (MAPW) Teaching Assistant (TA) Coordinator. She also supports the Health Humanities faculty working group, mentors undergraduate students through the First Year Scholars program, and teaches a variety of composition, rhetoric, and writing focused courses. 


Originally hailing from Western New York, Pratt earned her BA in Writing and Physical Geography with a minor in Environmental Studies at SUNY Buffalo State; her MA in Writing at University of Nevada, Reno; and her PhD in Composition and Rhetoric with a minor in Science and Technology Studies at University of Wisconsin-Madison. 


Her 2023 dissertation theorizes transformative psychedelic rhetoric across culture, biomedicine, and industry, and Pratt has published several recent articles related to her work as a former consultant at the nonprofit psychedelic prior art library Porta Sophia. 


She is currently developing qualitative research projects with collaborators at University of Wisconsin-Madison's Transdisciplinary Center for Research on Psychoactive Substances (TCRPS), Emory University's Center for Psychedelics and Spirituality (ECPS), and Perspective Wellness as part of a Radow College grant-funded Research Partnerships Program.
