LA LIVE Selects Screenplay by KSU MAPW Student Kandace James

KENNESAW, Ga. (Mar 3, 2019) — LA LIVE, a national scriptwriting contest and film festival, has selected the short screenplay, “Cutting Teeth,” by MAPW student Kandace James. "CuttingTeeth" is a comedy-drama about Kaden, a thirteen-year-old, burdened with black teeth that keeps her from being at peace with herself. Sheis forced to reconcile her feelings towards her absent mother, and with the help of her grandmother, she is challenged to overcome her anger.

The screenplay will be promoted on all of LA LIVE’s social media sites, as well as its promotions company’s site at bighouse-la.com until the festival date ofNovember 9th, 2019.

“The LA Live Film Festival is a wonderful event for both emerging and seasoned talent to showcase their extraordinary work. To have a student selected and presenting is an exciting accomplishment for KSU,”said screenwriting professor Mitch Olson.

Kandace is also a talented poet and a KSU undergraduate.
