Our team of globally active teachers and scholars in the Department of World Languages and Cultures invites you to explore and to become proficient in one or more of the fascinating languages, cultures, and literatures of American Sign Language, Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.

We offer a Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern Language & Culture that allows you to choose from a diverse range of languages and concentrations (including Foreign Language Education), and an Alternative Teacher Preparation Program (please see under "programs" for more info on our courses, programs, and admission requirements). Many students combine a Modern Language & Culture major with another major (e.g. Asian Studies, International Business, International Relations, etc.), and we also offer many options for minoring. Our state-of-the-art World Languages Resource Collection provides ample opportunities for co-curricular study activities, including free tutoring, and our various student clubs, as well as our faculty, offer many cultural events every semester.

Our experienced, innovative, and nationally and internationally recognized faculty members are looking forward to meeting you. We are here to share with you a journey that is rich in academic accomplishments, study abroad experiences, and internships, helping you on your way to a fulfilling professional career in the US and anywhere in the world.

Welcome to KSU's global world of learning and preparing for exciting careers.
