2019 Chinese Spring Gala
Students, Faculty, celebrate Chinese culture
KENNESAW, Ga. (Mar 20, 2019) — On Tuesday, March 5, more than 140 people gathered at the Carmichael Student Center University Rooms to celebrate Chinese culture.
The event was organized by Kennesw State's Chinese program faculty, and Chinese Language and Culture Club. It featured food and a talent show with songs, poems, C-pop dance, and martial arts demonstrations. C-pop dance teams and student singers rocked the room. Attendees also participated in language-learning mingling activities, practiced calligraphy, and learned some Taichi. Special guest, Prof. Alan Lebish, Director of KSU Library Facilities, gave a wonderful Taichi demo.
The Chinese program's next event, a Mid-Autumn Festival Gala, is scheduled for September. It will include Chinese food, moon cakes, talent shows, and activities related to one of the important traditional festivals in China.
