KSU Korean Program and Korean Education Center Collaborate to Host Eight Students from Kyung Hee University, South Korea

KENNESAW, Ga. (Aug 26, 2019) — The Korean Program of the Department of Foreign Languages at Kennesaw State University, with support from the Korean Education Center in Atlanta, has been offering a fun and intensive, residential Korean language teacher-training program for a group of 8 students from Kyung Hee University, South Korea. The program directed by Dr. Jeongyi Lee, coordinator of the Korean Program, is intentionally designed to provide student teacher-trainees with a wide variety of learning experiences that are meant to maximize their potential to improve pedagogical, linguistic, and cultural skills, which enhance their teaching abilities. Key components of the program also include practicum-based experiences, community engagement and mission projects, and field trips. The student teacher trainees have been having one-on-one conversation partnership with learners of Korean at KSU, so-called K-Buddy Program, to develop their cross-cultural communication by connecting with people of different backgrounds. The 4-week program started on August 8th and lasts until August 30th.
