Minor in Japanese

A minor in Japanese allows students to focus specifically on the Japanese language and culture, and complements other Kennesaw State programs like Asian Studies and others offered within Coles College of Business, the Bagwell College of Education, and Wellstar College of Health and Human Services. It would also be beneficial to students of Business, Art (specifically, Digital Animation), Computer Science, and more.

A minor in Japanese provides solid grounding in a language designated as critical, and can help prepare students for graduate study in Japan-related fields, for work in contexts where the language and culture are pertinent, or to live and work in Japan. The goal of the Japanese minor is to strengthen a student’s overall skills in internationalism and provide focus on the language and culture of the nation with the second largest economy in the world, thereby promoting marketability in fields including journalism, translation, engineering, technology, international law, foreign service, teaching and research, international business and banking, and international development.
